Read to your child, it makes a difference

Visit your public library regularly as you get started in — or continue — the read-aloud routine. Your public library is the place to go to get a variety of books to read aloud. The librarians can help you make selections of books suited to your child's wants and needs. Borrowing books is easy. All you need is a library card — and it is free.

Establish a routine time to read — perhaps at lunch time, before a nap or at bedtime.

Cuddle close to your child while reading aloud; make sure both of you can see the pictures.

Board to meet

The next board meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. March 17 at the La Plata library at 2 Garrett Ave.
