Indictments

A Charles County grand jury has issued the following indictments: Amber A. Nichols, 19, of Indian Head was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of armed robbery, 12 counts of handgun use in a felony or violent crime, two counts of first-degree burglary, theft of more than $500, seven counts of first-degree assault, four counts of attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, six counts of false imprisonment and conspiracy to commit armed robbery for events that occurred Feb. 10. Jeremy Lee Pasternak, 22, of Port Tobacco, was charged with theft of more than $500 and theft scheme in-volving more than $500 for events that occurred Oct. 1, 2007, and Feb. 3, 2008. Patrick Allan Portzen Jr., 27, of Waldorf was charged with manufacturing counterfeit currency, making an image of currency, possessing or issuing forged currency, drug possession, marijuana possession and conspiracy to manufacture counterfeit currency for events that occurred Aug. 26. Larry Donnell Thorne, 53, of Welcome was charged with narcotics possession with intent to distribute, drug possession, possession of narcotics production equipment and marijuana possession for events that occurred July 16. Crystal Lynn Yerkie, 25, of Indian Head was charged with manufacturing counterfeit currency, making an image of currency, possessing or issuing forged currency, drug possession, marijuana possession and conspiracy to manufacture counterfeit currency for events that occurred Aug. 26.
