Energetics panel to meet Feb. 3

The Patuxent Partnership will host a panel discussion on "The Future of Energetics in Naval Enterprise" at 8 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center in California.

Discussion topics will include new requirements for energetics for the aviation and surface and submarine communities, analytical energetics and the education of the future energetics workforce.

Panelists participating in this program will include Rear Adm. Jim Shannon, commanding officer of Naval Surface Warfare Center; retired Rear Adm. Millard Firebaugh; John W. Fischer, director of defense laboratory programs at the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense; professor James Short of the University of Maryland; Capt. Carl Chebi, program manager for Precision Strike Weapons Program Office; Al Stern, chief scientist at Indian Head; Randall Cope of the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division at China Lake; and Bob Kavetsky, CEO of the Energetics Technology Center.
