He loved to cook, listen to music, electronic games and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his parents, Francis X. Chase Sr. and Joyce M. Chase of Hollywood; one brother, Cornelius D. Chase and sister-in-law, Megan A. Chase; two nephews, Rytel and Isaiah Chase; and one niece, Makayla Chase; his grandmother, Elizabeth Bankins of Hollywood; his grandfather, George A. Thomas Sr. of Chaptico; three uncles, George A. Thomas Jr. of Chaptico, Francis Thomas (Janice) of Lusby and Charles Thomas (Renee) of Lexington Park; six aunts, Agnes Thomas, Alice Thomas of Lexington Park, Mary Thomas of Lusby, Gwen Bankins and Donetta Reeds (Carnell) of Oakville; four great-uncles, Louis X. Thomas Sr. (Jane), Cecil T. Thomas of Mechanicsville and William I. Thomas (Peggy) of Warsaw, Va.; his godparents, Ann Marie and Clarence of Mechanicsville; and a host of other relatives and friends. He considered Florine Somerville as a second mother and Damion, Charles, Thomas, Blackwell and Roy as his brothers.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary F. Young; his grandmother, Loretta L. Cruze; and his grandfather, Thomas C. Bankins.

The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m., when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Hollywood. The Rev. Ray Schmidt will officiate.

Interment will take place at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Damion Somerville, Jermaine Somerville, Charles Somerville, Wendell Thompson, Thomas Somerville and James Blackwell.

Arrangements are being handled by Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home in Waldorf.
