Two men, one wearing a ski mask and carrying a firearm, robbed a Charlotte Hall bank of an undisclosed amount of money shortly after 11 a.m. Friday, authorities report, and the culprits rode away in a car.
The gun was not fired and no one was hurt during the holdup at the branch of the Community Bank of Tri-County, according to St. Mary's detectives. Investigators would not say if any customers were inside.
The culprits ran to a back road behind the bank after the robbery, detectives report, and their getaway car was described as a silver or gray sedan, believed to be a Ford Taurus. The car was seen traveling on Golden Beach Road.
Detectives said one of the robbers had nothing covering his face. No arrests were reported as of Friday afternoon from the preliminary investigation, and detectives requested that anyone with any information about the incident call them at 301-475-4200, ext. 9058, or call St. Mary's Crime Solvers at 301-475-3333.
