Waldorf convenience store robbed
An armed man stole money from a Waldorf convenience store Feb. 1, and police are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case.
At 1:29 a.m., sheriff's officers went to Dash In at 3620 Mattawoman Beantown Road after hearing about the incident.
The man had walked up to the clerk with an item to purchase, but during the transaction, he took out a handgun and demanded money, police reported. The clerk handed over the money, and the man ran away to a dark-colored SUV that was parked at the side of the business.

Pills, pot found in car, police say
During a traffic stop Jan. 31, sheriff's officers recovered about $450 worth of marijuana and prescription pills worth nearly $360, according to police.
At 12:30 a.m., sheriff's officers stopped the car on Old Washington Road in Waldorf and smelled marijuana after walking up to the vehicle, police reported. They then reportedly discovered the pills and marijuana.
Sean Gerard Estep, 24, of Waldorf and Kenyon Stansbury Thomas, 19, of Owings were arrested and charged with possession of drugs with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officer T. Yates made the arrest.
