He was born July 9, 1921, in McKeesport, Pa.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and was a member of the VFW and Elks. He volunteered football coaching services with the Allentown Boys & Girls Club. He was a skilled bricklayer by trade and owned K-LOZ Masonry. He loved music and dancing and enjoyed fishing, golf, hunting and gardening as well as playing cards — pinochle and poker — with family and friends. His favorite football teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Washington Redskins.
He was the son of the late George Kaloz Sr. of McKeesport and the late Julia Molnar Kaloz; the brother of Raymond Kaloz, Irma Tarr, Regina Gebis, Emma Ryan and Helen DiChristofaro of McKeesport.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Buck Kaloz; his sons, Arnold Arthur Kaloz of Fort Washington, Robert John Kaloz (Dolores) of Upper Marlboro, Kenneth Charles Kaloz of Lusby and Timothy Scott Kaloz of Waldorf; his daughter, Deborah Charlotte Warren (Robert) of Annapolis; his brothers, George Kaloz Jr. of McKeesport and William Kaloz of Versailles Township, Pa.; his sister, Annabel Henry of Brunswick, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Chapel in La Plata, where a service will be held Wednesday, March 11, at 10 a.m. Interment will take place Wednesday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham. Clergy will be the Rev. Mark Roberson.
