He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the VFW and the Elks. He volunteered football coaching services with the Allentown Boys & Girls Club.
He was a skilled bricklayer by trade and was the owner of K-LOZ Masonry.
He loved music and dancing and enjoyed fishing, golf, hunting and gardening as well as playing cards with family and friends, especially pinochle and poker.
His favorite football teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Washington Redskins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Kaloz Sr. and Julia Molnar Kaloz; brother, Raymond Kaloz; and sisters, Irma Tarr, Regina Gebis, Emma Ryan and Helen DiChristofaro.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Buck Kaloz; sons, Arnold Arthur Kaloz of Fort Washington, Robert John Kaloz of Upper Marlboro and his wife Dolores, Kenneth Charles Kaloz of Lusby, Timothy Scott Kaloz of Waldorf; daughter, Deborah Charlotte Warren of Annapolis and her husband Robert; brothers, George Kaloz Jr., of McKeesport, Pa., William Kaloz of Versailles Township, Pa.; sisters, Annabel Henry of Brunswick, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Chapel in La Plata.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 11, at 10 a.m., also at the Raymond Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham.
The Rev. Mark Roberson will officiate.
