A search of a suspected St. Leonard drug house executed by law enforcement special units produced suspected crack cocaine and led to a 27-year-old man's arrest for drug distribution.
On March 4 at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the Calvert County Drug Enforcement Unit and Special Operations Team executed a search warrant on a home on Mackall Road in St. Leonard, a Calvert Investigative Team press release stated.
Police had reason to believe that the occupants of the home were involved in illegal distribution of cocaine, the release said. The search allegedly revealed a white rock-like substance suspected to be crack cocaine. Additionally, drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale, razor blade, glass Pyrex dish and suspected cocaine residue were allegedly found — items that are known by detectives to be utilized in the cooking or manufacturing crack cocaine, the release said. Zip-Loc baggies, used to package and distribute drugs, were also allegedly found as well as large bundles of cash.
Police arrested Michael Page Jr. and charged him with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of cocaine.
At the Drug Enforcement Unit Office, the suspected crack cocaine showed a weight of 3.2 grams and tested positive for the presence of cocaine.
A loaded gun magazine clip and additional bullets inside a Crown Royal bag were also allegedly found and confiscated during the search. All of these items were seized pursuant to the search warrant as evidence and proceeds of controlled dangerous substance violations. Police reports state that no smoking paraphernalia was located at the residence to imply that Page is a user of crack cocaine.
