Calvert County Commissioners President Wilson H. Parran (D), far left, congratulates Alton Kersey, left, and Bill Dovel after they unveiled the Founders' Plaque on Tuesday at the Calvert Marine Museum. Kersey and Dovel were joined by their wives and friends and family of Lore, Barrett and Langley.

The Calvert Marine Museum honored its founders Tuesday with the unveiling of a plaque.

The Solomons museum was founded 40 years ago by Alton S. Kersey, William L. Dovel, Joseph C. Lore Jr., Daniel Barrett Jr. and James Leroy "Pepper" Langley.
