Huntingtown 13, Patuxent 11
Curtis Wright scored a team-high five goals to give host Huntingtown a 13-11 come-from-behind win over Patuxent on March 21.
Huntingtown (1-0, 1-0 SMAC) trailed 7-4 at halftime and 10-9 after the third quarter but outscored the Panthers, 4-1, over the final 12 minutes.
Huntingtown sophomore Kelsey Baier-Anderson had three goals and two assists and David Wiese picked up two goals and five assists. Martin Thompson, Joshua Buckler and David Rice each scored once. Rice also added three assists. Nick Skalamera had one assist. Goalie Matt Deacon turned aside 12 shots.
Patuxent 11, Great Mills 7
Sean Hayden poured in four goals to carry host Patuxent (1-1, 1-1) to an 11-7 win over Great Mills on Thursday night.
Will Ragan scored three goals and Christopher Neitzey and William Walton each scored two. Thomas Hayden had three assists and Ryan Hunsicker had two.
Patuxent goalie Tony Roulhac made 12 saves.
Girls lacrosse
Huntingtown 6, Patuxent 4
Huntingtown scored the first four goals of the game, and went on to a 6-4 win over host Patuxent on March 21.
Casey Ademski and Jesse Moulton each scored two goals and Amelia Nerich and Alyssa Finlayson each scored one. Nerich, Katie Wolfe and Samantha Harlan each added one assist.
Huntingtown led 6-1 before Patuxent’s Whitney Thomas tallied four seconds before halftime. The Panthers scored twice in the second half but were unable to draw closer.
The win was the first for former Northern head coach Maggie Pike, who is in her first season with Huntingtown (1-0, 1-0).
Leonardtown 6, Calvert 2
Jesseca Virgin and Katie Roof each scored in the second half but the host Cavaliers fell 6-2 to Leonardtown.
Calvert (0-1, 0-1) trailed 2-0 at halftime but the experienced Raiders put the game away with four straight goals to start the second half. The Cavaliers missed 13 shots.
