A second Charles County man was arrested on March 30 in connection with the October shooting of a woman in Crofton, police reported.
Charles Brandon Martin, 32, of Bryans Road was charged with attempted murder in the incident.
On Oct. 27, Anne Arundel County police went to the 1600 block of Hart Court in Crofton, where they found a 26-year-old woman who had been shot, according to a police report.
The woman was taken to a hospital and admitted with life-threatening injuries.
On Jan. 19, Jerold Raymond Burks, 22, of Waldorf was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, carrying a handgun and using a handgun in a felony crime of violence.
Last Monday, Martin was also arrested.
Martin and the victim knew each other before the shooting, and the woman was targeted in the alleged attempted murder, according to police.
Despite the arrests that have been made, the investigation is still active, and detectives are asking for anyone who may have any information about the crime to call detective Michael Regan at 410-222-3463.
