Calvert Hospice announces programs

Calvert Hospice will be offering the following support groups and programs:

Time to Heal - Death of a Spouse, a support group for those grieving the loss of a spouse will meet each Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., May 6 through June 24, at the Calvert Hospice office, 238 Merrimac Court in Prince Frederick. Registration is required. Call 410-535-0892 or 301-855-1226 for more information or to register.

Bridges, a grief support program for children ages 3 to 12, teenagers ages 13 to 18 and adult family members who are grieving the death of someone important to them, will meet Thursdays through May 29 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church on Main Street in Prince Frederick. Hospice Volunteer Training for new volunteers begins Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Calvert Hospice office, 238 Merrimac Court in Prince Frederick. Sessions continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. through June 3. There will be no classes the week of July 1. Training is free. A Drop-in Support Group, for adults who want the opportunity to share feelings and obtain support from others who are experiencing a loss, is offered each Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Calvert Hospice office, 238 Merrimac Court in Prince Frederick. St. John Vianneyto offer exerciseprograms

St. John Vianney Family Life Center in Prince Frederick has a low-impact aerobics class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. This class is led by trained and experienced aerobics instructors.

The cost is $5 per class. The current session will run through Thursday, June 5. Enroll by e-mail at sjvflc@chesapeake.net

There will be adult co-ed volleyball at St. John Vianney Family Life Center in Prince Frederick every Monday night from 7 to 10 p.m.

The classes are open to intermediate to advanced players. St. John Vianney parishioner fee is $3.50 and the non-parishioner fee is $5 per night.
