Who’s tightening their belts?

Friday, May 30, 2008

Commissioners’ President Wayne Cooper stated in reference to raising our property tax, ‘‘It is imperative that everyone understands the importance of the decisions that we have made as commissioners. This is a critical time in the history of Charles County, and we all share in the belt-tightening. We all must work together to make hard decisions where needed, but we must never make them on the backs of our citizens.”

The county commissioners not only raised this on our backs, but in our wallets too.

The decisions that they have made since the last election (and a clear majority was voted into office) have resulted in not only losing valuable employees but all of their salaries associated with those employees.

We all should demand a full accounting of where they spent our money, and then they can look us in the eye as they pick our pockets.

Personally, my ballot is ready for 2010 because it will not include any of them.
