Bailey's impact

I had the opportunity to meet and greet Collins Bailey one Friday evening in April. My first recollection of Mr. Bailey was a letter to the editor he had written to my high school's newspaper in 1996.
I was then a senior and he favorably responded to an article I wrote. How encouraging, to think that a member of the school board read something I had written and took the time to respond. I still have that letter.
Now, 14 years later, I sat in a living room with my 6-year-old daughter on my lap just taking in some of Mr. Bailey's enthusiasm about what he would like to do for our country. It warms my heart to think there are men like Collins Bailey in our country who are willing to stand up for what is right.
I believe our country would be in better condition if our elected representatives were more reachable, if they still cared for what we the people care about. Maybe if there were term limits there would be an opportunity for fresh new faces who haven't been on Capitol Hill too long to remember what it was like to be one of us.
Thank you, Mr. Bailey, for taking the time to impact my life and now the lives of my children.
