Waldorf Kiwanis will meet 7:30-8:30 a.m. June 30 in the Waldorf Comfort Suites' conference room, 11765 Business Park Drive, U.S. 301 and Acton Lane, Waldorf. There is a membership drive meeting to acquaint the public with the community service functions of Kiwanis and the benefits of membership. There is a $5 meeting fee that includes breakfast. Household hazardous waste collection will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 3 at the landfill on Billingsley Road, Waldorf. Items accepted include pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer, gasoline, motor oil, antifreeze, paint, cleaning supplies, pool chemicals, batteries, expired prescription drugs, and other poisons that are around your house. Habitat for Humanity's ReStore has a pet thrift store with gently used pet supplies, such as cages and aquariums, for sale. Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity. Tuesday, July 6

College of Southern Maryland will host Chautauqua 2010 "Beyond Boundaries" July 6-8. Historical interpretations of Thurgood Marshall will be July 6 on the Leonardtown campus, Frederick Law Olmstead July 7 on the La Plata campus and Sacagawea will be July 8 on the Prince Frederick campus.
