Sheila Haviland, president of the national Old People's Riding Club organization, leads a longe demonstration with Blaze.

The Old People's Riding Club Freedom chapter, serving Charles, St. Mary's and Calvert counties, held a horse camp at Greenwell State Park last month.

Members participated in lessons, enjoyed demonstrations, rode trails, socialized and spent the night at Greenwell's Knott Lodge.

The OPRC is a national organization with chapters around the country. Its mission is to promote safe and enjoyable horsemanship through educational activities to anyone older than 21 no matter the discipline.

Those who don't ride are welcome too.
