Promotions, transfers announced

Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans recently made the following transfers and promotions within the sheriff's office.

Earlier this year, First Sgt. Steve Jones was promoted to lieutenant and made commander of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations which encompasses the Calvert Investigative Team. Additionally, on Aug. 27, Det. Sgt. Michael Moore of the CIT was transferred to the Investigations Division of the Calvert County States' Attorney's Office and First Sgt. Matthew McDonough was promoted to detective sergeant and assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

Sgt. William B. Parrot of the Office of Professional Standards (OPS) division of the sheriff's office was promoted to detective sergeant within that division.

Sgt. Craig Bowen was promoted to first sergeant and transferred from leadership of a patrol squad to the commanding officer of the Twin Beach squad.

Sgt. Dave Payne of the Special Operations Team has been promoted to the rank of first sergeant. Cpl. Michael Bomgardner of the Community Action Team has been promoted to sergeant and will now oversee Patrol Squad 2 and Dfc. Todd A. Smith of the K-9 Team has been promoted to corporal within the K-9 division.
