Maredith Management expands customer service team
Maredith Management announced the addition of Margaret "Margo" Wells to its customer service team.
Wells will primarily be assisting homeowners who choose to telephone the management office with various questions regarding their homeowners associations.
Homeowners who prefer to address issues online have the option of visiting Maredith Management's Web site at www.maredithmgmt.com to find answers to frequently asked questions, view their accounts and access community information.
The Web site is an extension of the customer service team, according to a company press release. Requests for information online are filtered through the customer service department where they are processed or forwarded onto the most appropriate staff member for additional information.
Maredith Management is a homeowners association management company in Waldorf. Its clientele is comprised of associations and condominiums encompassing more than 15,000 units in Charles, Prince George's and St. Mary's counties.
Baldus commercial division opens in La Plata
Baldus Real Estate has relocated its commercial real estate division.
Located at the corner of U.S. 301 and Charles Street, the commercial division joins the Baldus residential division and the corporate office at the Baldus Centre in La Plata.
Art Simpson has been appointed sales manager of the commercial division. He is a lifelong resident of Charles County and has 25 years of retail marketing experience. He has been a licensed real estate agent since 1982 and associated with Baldus since 1985. In 1997, he was appointed lot sales and project development specialist and in 2002 also took on the position of sales manager of the residential division in Waldorf.
The commercial division accounts for the largest share of the Metropolitan Regional Information System commercial and industrial market, according to a press release. Its commercial agents are experts in sales, leasing, property management, land development and consulting.
Zekiah Technologies listed as top' business
A La Plata company has been included in The Gazette of Politics and Business' list of the 53 top businesses and organizations in Maryland.
Zekiah Technologies was recognized for its growth during the last three years as well as its community service programs including Women and Math Day at the College of Southern Maryland, Robotics Challenge, Charles County 4-H, Southern Charles Little League and St. Ignatius Church-Chapel Point and innovation in software engineering and geographic information systems.
The program, produced by The Gazette, acknowledges the top 53 businesses and organizations in the state based on criteria that included the recipient company's annual revenue and employee growth as well as noteworthy product or service innovations, community service efforts, how they have steered their way through the economic downturn, and how the companies portrayed themselves as "good places to work."
The second annual awards ceremony was held Sept. 23 in Bethesda.
A keynote speech by Ed Henry, CNN's senior White House correspondent, sponsored by Comcast Spotlight and Comcast Business Class, preceded a dinner and networking activities.
Headquartered in La Plata, Zekiah Technologies is a woman-owned small systems engineering firm. The company provides software development and geospatial services.
Public relations and marketing workshop to be held Oct. 15
The Public Relations Individuals in Southern Maryland will hold a marketing conference from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at the College of Southern Maryland's Leonardtown campus at 22950 Hollywood Road.
The cost is $40 for PRISM members and $50 for nonmembers who register after Oct. 2. The cost includes the conference and lunch.
This is PRISM's fifth annual PR and marketing workshop for local nonprofits, businesspeople, entrepreneurs, professionals, students and government employees.
