At right, Theresa Gross, with the help of her husband, Randolph Gross, on guitar warm up the audience with a sound check Saturday evening before a gospel concert at Leonardtown High School.
Below, Aireona McNair, 10, of Great Mills sings the national anthem after an opening prayer. The concert was organized by Great Mills residents Margaret and William Butler to aid families visiting wounded members of the armed services at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda through the organization Purple Heart Family Support. In addition to the Gross Family Praise Team, the concert was to feature the groups God's Inspiration, Chosen Son, the Southern Maryland Gospel Choir, St. Peter Claver's Gospel Choir, Jones Family and Bonita C. Ruff, a gospel recording artist and songwriter.
