Epicurean event aided Tap's Community Brotherhood

Friday, Oct. 9, 2009

On Oct. 2, Tap's Community Brotherhood held its fourth annual Epicurean Event. TCB hosted this event at Blue Wind Gourmet in California, for a night of tasting fine wines and another exciting auction.

TCB is thankful for the continued support of local businesses as well as friends and family that make this event a successful fundraiser each year. TCB is excited about allocating proceeds from the Epicurean Event back into the community through their events and by supporting other youth-oriented programs.

Without donations from friends and family this event would not have been possible. TCB was able to auction more items than ever before. These items ranged from homemade lumpia to massages to trips to the Bahamas and Las Vegas.

Auction items were donated by the following: Steve and Eileen Bildman, Steve Bradburn and Spinnaker's, Caren's Solomon Style, Romeo and Julia David, Emily Jackson, Paul and Judy Kellam and Kellam's Seafood, Mike and Deb Kepferle, Chuck Kimball and River Creek Lodge, Robert Lockard of EnaloImagery, Dave Long and Esperanza Bowling Lanes, Dan Parker and Travel Leaders, Junius Scott, Elinor Sweeney and The Tides.

To help TCB keep costs to a minimum, friends and families sponsored bottles of wine for the tasting. TCB would like to thank Larry and Meleesa Autry, John and Mary Bohanan and Ed and Gail Stapanon for their sponsorships.

TCB would also like to thank Rob Plant and the staff at Blue Wind Gourmet for volunteering their time to host the Epicurean Event year after year. Without their endless efforts, this event would not be possible.

Proceeds from the Epicurean Event are used to fund TCB's annual events: the May Madness basketball tournament and back to school picnic.

In addition, TCB continues to support other youth-oriented programs such as the Joseph Patrick Kepferle Scholarship Foundation, Great Mills High School Project Possible, and Tri-County Warriors Amateur Athletic Union Boys Basketball Club.
