La Plata plans fall festival

La Plata officials invite everyone to enjoy the autumn weather and check out some local cuisine during the La Plata Fall Festival and Taste of La Plata event next week.
The event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 18 on the lawn of town hall on Queen Anne Street, said Amy PeŇa, the town's special events coordinator.
La Plata officials are hoping that folks will gather on the lawn of town hall to enjoy samples of food from local eateries and enjoy several activities, including a pumpkin decorating craft project, performances by Judy's Studio of Dance and live entertainment by The Wise Guys, PeŇa said.
