The North Point Eagles already had taken down five foes in the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference and continued with No. 6 this week at Calvert.
Thanks in part to 34 first-half points and a lockdown defense, North Point earned its fourth road win of the season and spoiled Calvert's homecoming with a 41-0 nonconference shutout.
"We had a nice homecoming crowd and everything, we knew coming in that North Point obviously was a good team and very deep," Calvert head coach Marc Watson said. "They haven't lost to anyone in SMAC and we knew it was going to be a big challenge for us. We found early with some mistakes, we got down early. You can't give team opportunities like that with turnovers and short field."
The Eagles (6-0, 4-0 SMAC) will look to keep the unbeaten streak alive as they host county rival Westlake at 7 p.m. Friday.
It was the second straight shutout for North Point, after shutting out La Plata.
"Last week we didn't play as well as we wanted to, so this week we wanted to come in and take their [Calvert] heart and put the game away early," said North Point senior linebacker Conner Crowell, who had a three-yard touchdown to make the game 20-0 in the late stages of the first quarter. Crowell also had a sack and four tackles. "We were ready all this week in practice and had a ready mentality. Everyone did pretty good."
North Point continued its strong rushing attack as it pounded out 259 yards on 24 carries, as junior D.J. Briscoe led all rushers with 121 yards on 16 carries.
It was a season-high in yards for Briscoe, who also added a touchdown from three yards out in the third quarter, which ended the scoring for the Eagles in the contest.
Wale Onakoya scored on runs of 25 and 15 yards, both coming in the second period and finished with 87 yards on nine carries.
"I think it's how our zone blocking is set up," Crowell said on why the Eagles' run game is so effective. "Most of the time because of our blocking there's always a hole open somewhere and that's how Wale and D.J. get their yards and big runs. It's always a plus when the offensive line is getting a good push for our running back."
Calvert (1-5, 1-3) will be at Chopticon at 7 Friday night, looking to snap a four-game losing streak.
