Trick-or-treat tips for a happy Halloween

La Plata officials have scheduled Halloween trick- or-treating in town from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 and motorists are asked to be especially vigilant during the hours when little ghosts and goblins are on the streets.

Trick-or-treating should be limited to kids 12 and younger and parents should accompany them when they are going from house to house. The council asks that trick-or-treating be limited to the kids' neighborhoods and that they carry a flashlight to help illuminate their way.
