African-American contributions discussed

The final symposium of the 325th Anniversary Celebration of Middleham and St. Peter's Parish in Lusby will be held at the parish at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1.

A panel including Calvert County Board of County Commissioners' President Wilson Parran; Calvert County Historic Preservation Planner Kirsti Uunila; Episcopal Diocese of Maryland archivist Mary Klein; and local educator and historian Russell Costley will discuss the role of African-Americans and churches in the development of Calvert County.

Following the panel's presentations, the audience will be able to ask questions and engage in the discussion.
