Miedzinski picks up award

The 2009 United States Air Force-European (USAFE) Women's Soccer Championship was held at RAF Alconbury, UK. This year's champion team was Lakenheath Eagles under the leadership of team captain, SSgt. Melissa Miedzinski of Golden Beach.

Through hard work and determination, Miedzinski was able to lead the team to victory. The coaches, officials and distinguished guest, world class soccer player Marcelo Balboa, all agreed, and presented SSgt "The Tank" Miedzinski with the most valuable player award. She was also selected to participate in the Allied Command HQ Ramstein Indoor Soccer Championship.

SSgt Miedzinski is presently stationed at RAF Lakenheath, working as a munitions journeyman for the 48th Munitions Squadron USAF. She is a 2000 graduate of Chopticon High School. Miedzinski is pictured with Balboa.
