The Maryland State Highway Administration will lend reflective safety vests to parents for their kids to wear when they go trick-or-treating on Halloween.
The SHA's Vests for Visibility program lends the vests for no charge. The vests can be placed over a child's costume or can be the costume with a hard hat, a pair of jeans, a T-shirt and boots.
The vests will be available for pickup in Charles County at the SHA shop on Washington Avenue in La Plata from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 30. The vests will be issued on first-come, first-served basis and must be returned to the shop by Nov. 6.
