Lobster fest

The La Plata Rotary Club held its 34th annual Lobster Festival Sept. 27 at the Charles County Fairgrounds. The lobster festival is the only fundraiser that La Plata Rotarians host each year. Charles County Commissioner Samuel N. Graves Jr. (D), center, hands out lobsters during this year's event. The proceeds, more than $48,000, go back in to the community. The club is part of Rotary International, the world's first service club, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide.
