Margaret M. Goodrick, 69, Port Tobacco

Margaret "Peggy" M. Goodrick, 69, of Port Tobacco died Nov. 3, 2009, at National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda.

Mrs. Goodrick was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Ripley. She was active in the Charles County Democratic Club. She loved her animals — Nicholas, Cody and Liberty —her farm and pond. She also enjoyed gardening.

Born April 24, 1940, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Walter Goodwin and the late Frances M. Hancock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and Gilbert Goodwin.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John Paul Goodrick; daughter, Marie Pickett of Port Tobacco; sister, Viola "Sis" Lugar of Alexandria, Va.; grandson, John Robert Pickett; and nieces and nephews.

A gathering will be held from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at Raymond Funeral Service, La Plata. The Rev. Mark Burton will officiate. Burial will be private.
