Village appreciates support

On behalf of the Hughesville Running Club, I want to thank everyone for coming out to support the Southern Maryland Food Bank, Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department, Hughesville Baseball Association, the vendors, our runners and the village of Hughesville.
Throughout the day, we had between 300 and 400 attendees. We had 130 runners in the 10K and 5K race and more than two dozen kids participated in the fun run.
As a result, we were able to donate 812 pounds of food plus give a cash donation to the Southern Maryland Food Bank.
The Hughesville Running Club will also be presenting checks to the HVFD and the Hughesville Baseball Association, in the amount of $1,000 each, from the festival proceeds.
In addition, I would like to thank the Charles County Sheriff's Office, our business sponsors, individual contributors and volunteers, without whom this event would not have been possible.
We hope everyone enjoyed themselves, and will look forward to this event, in the years to come.
