Ida Rebecca Holley Taylor, 81, Scotland

Ida Rebecca Holley Taylor, 81, of Scotland died Nov. 5, 2009, at St. Mary's Nursing Center in Leonardtown.

Born June 19, 1928, in Port Norris, N.J., she was the daughter of Lillian White Dove and James L. Holley.

She attended school in both St. Mary's County and Cumberland. She was employed at the Navy Exchange at Patuxent River Naval Air Station for 37 years.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sarah Gough Anderson, James "Dot" Holley and William "Bill" Holley; her niece, Audrey; her aunts, Lena Gough, Patsy White and Hilda White; her husband, Joseph E. Taylor; her sister-in-law, Diana; and her brother-in-law, Richard.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanne, and her son-in-law, Linwood Beamon Sr.; her grandsons, Linwood Jr. and his wife, Lynette, and Anthony and his wife, Tameka; four granddaughters, Zakirrah, Shaniqua, Christina and Wynter Beamon; her cousin, Lucy; her goddaughters, Edith and Donna Jean, Ida, Edna; her cousin, Vincent; her nieces, Patricia, Pamela, Cheryl and Vicky; her nephews, Audie, Irvin, Irwin, Ernest "Pee Wee" and his wife, Diane; two step-nieces, Jena and Barbara; her god-brother, James and his wife, Emma; special aunts and uncles, Sarah Dyson, Margaret Barnes, Virginia White, Preston White and Francis White; her stepchildren, Marcelene, Linda, Wanda, Joan, Julian and Little Joe "Teddy Bear;" her sister-in-law, Jeanette; special neighbor, Robert; and coworkers and friends.

She had connections to both Zion United Methodist and St. Luke United Methodist churches. At St. Luke, she was an active member of the adult usher board.

Arrangements were handled by Sewell Funeral Home in Prince Frederick.
