Thomas N. Hudson, 65, North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Thomas Norman "Tommy" Hudson, 65, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., originally of Washington, D.C., and Suitland, died Nov. 4, 2009, at his residence.

He was a singer, musician and D.J. known as "DaddyKool" in South Carolina, and throughout Anacostia.

He loved Myrtle Beach and had made it his home for the last 10 years.

Born Sept. 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Norman Wilson Hudson and the late Mary Francis Kirk of Suitland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Damon.

He is survived by his sons, Seth and D.J. Hudson; his sibling, Joanne and her husband, Bob Bennett, of Waldorf; his niece, Sherry and her husband, Brian Hosty, of Fredericksburg, Va.; his nephew, Raymond Edwards and his wife, Debbie, of King George, Va.; two grandchildren; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; aunts, Melba Croson and Donna Nichols; and numerous cousins.

A memorial church service was held in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Arrangements were handled by McMillan Funeral Home in South Carolina.

A memorial service is being planned in Maryland for the future.
