Francis John McDaniel Sr., 46, Mechanicsville

Francis John "Frankie" "Kazoo" McDaniel Sr., 46, of Mechanicsville died Nov. 15, 2009, from injuries received in an accident.

Born March 3, 1963, in Cheverly, he was the oldest son of the late Clinton Ivan McDaniel and Judy Ann Werner McDaniel and grew up in Cheltenham.

He was employed as a diesel mechanic for the Prince George's County school system. A devoted husband and father, he enjoyed life.

He was previously a fireman and EMT for the Upper Marlboro Fire Department and the Baden Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a member of the Iron Horsemen motorcycle club and loved his 2002 Full Dresser Fireman's Edition Harley-Davidson Classic. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and hunting, and oldies and country music were his favorites.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cindy Leigh Owens McDaniel; children, Sarah M. Wieman, Shannon E. McDaniel and Francis John "Junior" McDaniel Jr.; brothers, Randy McDaniel and Clinton "Mac" McDaniel; and sisters, Tammy Richards, Tina Rice, Judy McDaniel and Pam Warner.

A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held from 5-7 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. Nov. 24 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, Charlotte Hall. The Rev. Gene Yakey will officiate. Burial will be private.
