Thomas Norman Hudson, 65, North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Thomas Norman "Tommy" Hudson, 65, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., originally from Washington, D.C., and Suitland, died Nov. 4, 2009, at home.

Mr. Hudson was a local singer, musician and DJ known as "DaddyKool," in South Carolina and throughout the Southeast D.C. area. He loved doing what he adored most, his rock ‘n' roll music, and having a good time, making everyone happy around him.

He loved Myrtle Beach as his home for the last 10 years.

Born Sept. 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Norman Wilson Hudson and the late Mary Francis Kirk of Suitland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Damon.

He is survived by his sons, Seth and D.J. Hudson; sister, Joanne and her husband, Bob Bennett of Waldorf; niece, Sherry and her husband, Brian Hosty of Fredericksburg, Va.; nephew, Raymond Edwards and his wife, Debbie of King George, Va.; two grandchildren; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; aunts, Melba Croson and Donna Nichols; and numerous cousins.

A memorial church service was held in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. Services were provided by McMillan Funeral Home. A future memorial service is being planned in Maryland.
