Calverton leagues

The Calverton School is currently holding registration for its winter sports leagues, which consists of boys lacrosse (ages 8-14), girls field hockey (8-18) and girls lacrosse (8-18). For more information, call Greg Zecca at 410-535-0216, ext. 121 or go to www.calvertonschool.org.

Hitting camp

Patuxent High School will hold a baseball hitting camp from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 13 and 20 in its gymnasium. The camp is open top players aged 7 to 14 and the fee is $50.

U.S. Baseball Academy

The U.S. Baseball Academy will hold a pitcher and catcher camps from Jan. 3 to Feb. 7 at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The camp is open to players in ages 1 through 12. The training sessions include six weeks of instruction for as low as $99.

Registration deadlines are approximately six weeks before each session begins and spots are limited.

Sting lessons

The Southern Maryland Sting, a 12-U travel baseball team, is offering lessons to baseball and softball players of all ages. The lessons will be taught by professional hitting instructor Billy Johnson.

Falcons soccer

The Freestate Falcons, a U-12 girls soccer team, are looking to add 2-3 players, including a keeper.  Players born on or after Aug. 1, 1997 and before Aug. 1, 1999 are eligible. The Falcons compete in the WAGS and play three tournaments each season.
