Calvert County Sheriff's Office deputies, along with other law enforcement officials, who instructed or participated in a Crash Reconstruction School that took place at the College of Southern Maryland Prince Frederick Campus.

Three Calvert County Sheriff's Office deputies qualified as investigators and were welcomed into the ranks of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team, which is now expanded to 14 members, a sheriff's office press release stated.

Dfc. Carl Fischer, Deputy Nicholas DeFelice and Deputy Wayne Wells all completed the training in April and May, sponsored by the Maryland Crash Reconstruction Committee.

Various local, county, state and federal agencies were in attendance. Officers from Prince George's County Police Department, Maryland State Police, U.S. Park Police and Calvert County Sheriff's Office were subjected to intense course work and specialized courses.

The classes took place at the College of Southern Maryland Prince Frederick campus.

The course was taught by reconstruction experts from MCRC member agencies of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office, Maryland State Police, P.G. County Police, Baltimore County Police, Maryland Transportation Authority Police, St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, as well as the Calvert County State's Attorney's Office.

On Monday, Sheriff Mike Evans presented the Sheriff's Salute to Gladys Jones and Christopher Griggs of Panera Bread Company for providing food to the students and instructors of the school.

"Without the important partnership and support of local businesses and learning centers, training for the county's Crash Reconstruction Team might not be possible," stated a sheriff's office press release.
