A St. Leonard home was invaded by three hooded men on Monday evening, and on Tuesday night police arrested three men in relation to the robbery, according to a press release from the Calvert Investigative Team.
The men broke in and demanded at gunpoint that the occupants get on the floor. The release said one placed a gun to a woman's head and the men rummaged through the victim's belongings and stole prescription medications.
At 9:52 p.m., members of the CIT responded to the report of an armed robbery that occurred at a home on Mackall Road and were told that three white men had kicked open the front door, threatened the victims with guns and said "Get me the pills."
The suspects then fled the scene on foot.
Det. Michael Mudd of the Calvert Investigative Team, comprised of members of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office, the Maryland State Police Prince Frederick Barrack and the Calvert County State's Attorney's Office, arrived on the scene and began the investigation.
The victim told investigators that her fiancé and his 17-year-old son were present during the robbery.
She described the three men as being in their 20s and she believed all three suspects were holding shotgun-type weapons. She described the first man to be 6 feet tall, of medium build and wearing dark-colored clothing, a hooded sweatshirt and a black mask.
The second man was described as being 6 feet tall and wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a red bandana covering his face.
The victim told police the third man was 5 feet 11 inches and also was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and a black mask. She said that one of the suspects placed the barrel of his gun to her head at which point she believed that she was going to die.
One of the male victims said that after the robbery, he saw a vehicle at the intersection of Matapeake Court and Mackall Road with the engine running, occupied by a lone female.
On Tuesday night, the CIT executed three search warrants, two in Lusby and one in Port Republic and "found evidence linking them [three people] to the crime," and three men were arrested, said Lt. Steven Jones of the CIT. The woman who was seen in the vehicle near the robbery was arrested earlier, he said.
"The investigation is on-going," he said.
