DirectMail.com, a mass mailing marketing company in Prince Frederick, has purchased Eagle Direct, an Upper Marlboro-based direct mail shop specializing in personalized, multi-insert pieces.
With the acquisition, privately held DirectMail.com will add two Eagle Direct staff members to its payroll. Some customer accounts as well as the physical plant and equipment also will transfer to DirectMail.com, according to a press release.
DirectMail.com declined to divulge how much it paid for Eagle Direct. The company will gain "expanded capabilities. Eagle found their niche, the last few years, in multi-insert packages, including up to 15, 16, 17, 18 inserts; so we're adding those capabilities to our capabilities as well," said Directmail.com Vice President Shawn Salta in an interview. "It was something we really honed in on in the last few years."
Offers are "on the table" for some of Eagle's handful of other employees but the move from Upper Marlboro to Prince Frederick could be a challenge, Salta said.
