DUI stop leads to assault, DOP arrest
On Dec. 12 at 5:51 p.m., Deputy Mark Robshaw attempted to stop a driver who was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The driver, Joanna Gawlik, 43, of Lusby drove to her house and allegedly tried to shut the garage door on the officer. Gawlik was arrested for DUI and she allegedly became disorderly and kicked the window of Robshaw’s patrol car causing $350 in damage.
Gawlik also allegedly kicked Correctional Officer Collette Bivens in the leg at the county jail. Gawlik was charged with DUI, second-degree assault, destruction of property, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
