Community college to offer open houses for career-starting classes

College of Southern Maryland will host Career Starters program open houses at Prince Frederick campus on Jan. 4, the La Plata campus on Jan. 6 and the Leonardtown campus on Jan. 7 to introduce its slate of noncredit training courses for people who want to kick-start a career in 10 to 16 weeks and at the new CSM Center for Trades and Energy Training in Waldorf on Jan. 9 to introduce construction non-credit training.
Career Starters programs include classes offered in short sequences for students to gain skills quickly to enter the workforce.
The career fields of business, construction, early childhood, health care, hospitality, information technology, transportation and veterinarian are offered through the Career Starters program.
Career Starters open houses will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 4 at the Prince Frederick campus' Flagship Building, Room 119; from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 at the La Plata Campus Center for Business and Industry, Room 113; from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the Leonardtown campus A Building Auditorium; and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Jan. 9 at the CSM Center for Trades and Energy Training.
