She was born on July 4, 1959, in Elkton to the late Carl N. Johnson and Betty Woodburn Johnson.
She attended Calvert County public schools. She graduated cum laude from York College of Pennsylvania in 1980 with a bachelor of science degree and was awarded a master’s degree in supervision and human relations from George Washington University in 1983. She was employed by the Calvert County public schools from 1980 to 2007 as a teacher and administrator.
She loved being a teacher and loved her students at Huntingtown Elementary School. She enjoyed playing softball, boating and gardening, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl N. Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Walton H. Stone; daughters, Kelsey and Carly Stone; mother, Betty W. Johnson; and brother, Michael W. Johnson.
The funeral service was held Dec. 8 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Prince Frederick.
The officiating ministers were the Rev. John Williams of Solomons United Methodist Church and the Rev. Charles Harrell of Trinity United Methodist Church.
The internment was held at Solomons United Methodist Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Debbie Buckler Whalen, Kathy Evans Cook, Chip Hatfield, Billy Gray, Wayne Thompson and Jody Swann.
The honorary pallbearers were Jerry Padgett and John Cardinal.
